Is this the right time to buy a house as a primary residence. Everything is above listing price and going up on a weekly basis. What is your recommendation, be on rent for another year or two till the time property price go down or buy a house and save money on rent. Aprox budget is $500k and renting a house for 2200k per month as of now.

Yea, funk it. I was asking the same question 18 months ago. Bought a house with 10% down and it appreciated by 30ish% since then. With all that’s going on, tier 2 cities should be safe if you plan on living in the home for a while. Keep in mind that there will always be a price to interest rate trade-off.

I’m holding out to see how many out-of-state buyers realize they can’t survive a Texas summer and put their houses back on the market in the fall. Where are you?

funny

How do you survive Tampa Humidity? Do you still have any outdoor activities during those weeks/months?

I would wait if you are in Tampa. There seems to be a lot of homes on preforclosure. There are really none right now in Austin or Texas overall. Just my thought.

You can see them on Zillow. I believe you can filter for them.

Almost always the best time to buy real estate is last year

Looking to put 10k into ibonds (maybe another 10k next year but not sure yet). Is treasury site easy enough to use? I initially stayed away because I heard it's awful but if set up is doable then I'll reconsider.

Also, should you have a separate emergency fund until you can withdraw your ibonds? Can't withdraw if you have an emergency in the next 12 months.

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good?
