I just had to take sick leave again on the first project out of the gate. Dr is recommending 40 hours a week which will not fit the requirements of my director role. I feel like I need to switch roles to a non client facing role to be realistic in my health limitations. How do I make the switch and have the convo with w my mentor?

Applied to a paid media specialist position, well qualified. Was invited for a second round interview but before I could attend they reached out to me telling me they had closed the position because their candidate pool collapsed (they all accepted jobs and bowed out). Now they’re telling me I’ll have to re-apply when they re-open the position in the “near future.” Is this pretty much a lost cause? If I was the only candidate left and they didn’t pick me, what would be the point of re-applying?
