It seems like a lot of people, at least on FB, jump from big 4 to big 4. Is the grass really greener? Doesn't seem that common within MBB.

Not sure it's different but you do start building your network from scratch. Sometimes that's a good thing - if you or your networks suck, or both.

Great for the quick jumps in rank and 10k

like

I suspect it's more common because people are boxer into certain practices at their firms and only way to do something else is at another firm

like

But if your own firm is not willing to promote you, then why is another similarly ranked firm willing to? And does the 10k mean there is a lot of salary disparity within a company / practice?

Hi Folks, I'm currently in search of a mentor. I'm a 28y/o MSc grad and starting a Junior Funding Consultant role (writing grant applications for startups) as I'm tired of holding out for an entry level role in ESG/Sustainability - I keep getting rejections despite completing a very wide ranging internship at a renewable energy company. Last year I received an offer at Deloitte Belgium but due to Brexit & VISA delays, we couldn't continue. Now I'm unsure of my career progression & need guidance.

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?

What does an exit from Salesforce consulting look like? I’m in a technical role leading a small team so my understanding is a technical/solution architect or a development team lead at either Salesforce or an end user like Amazon/Amex.

I have bounced around a couple consulting companies so would prefer not to do it again. Total 4 YOE.

I don’t think I have enough YOE to go for a program architect role at SF otherwise I’d be interested.
