I’m leaving my firm, and a prospective employee (who went to my law school and is actually unknowingly applying to fill the position I’m vacating) reached out to me after her interview via e-mail to ask about my experience at the firm. Can I contact her to answer her questions about the position? I can’t see why it would be a problem, but something is giving me pause and I can’t put my finger on why. Thoughts?
Does EYP have any offerings around organization strategy? If so, I’d love to connect and discuss any opportunities if you are hiring. EY
I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.
Guy behind me in the group 1 line to board the plane - "are you group 1?" - no asshole, I'm just standing here to be a total inconvenience to you. STFU and go to your exit row seat.
Huron 🐟. I'm interested in a project manager position that isn't offered in my local office. If I apply, will I be expected to relocate or is it flexible?
Exit Ops for human capital M&A consulting?
WFH seems to be the new standard policy for both FT and freelancers because of the coronavirus. To gain perspective, lets do a roll call. Onsite vs WFH Your City Role
In a predicament folks .. my new employer hired me into a full time role into the US but the immigration team has only done a TN for 10 months due to some administrative mistakes and now the paper work is done. I am working to see how i get this addressed as I cannot even sigh a lease for a 1 year place or lease a car if my status is under 1 year. I am confident they will renew me but it puts me in a jam. Any advice on this? Has anyone seen this?
L.E.K. Consulting fishes.. I applied in June for associate with our referral. Should I apply again or what’s the play?
Any fishes that did PMO consulting and exited to industry? What kind of exit opportunities are available at SC and M level? How much was your salary hike? MBA here with 2+ years of consulting experience.
I need opinions on this. Just started a new PM role (at an IPG agency) last month but I recently got hit up by a recruiter from another agency (WPP agency) for a pretty enticing PM role on a 360 AOR account. Further context: The PM role I'm in currently is my first PM role ever (I came from an entry level AE/Producer backgrund) I know jumping ship for the other PM role would look terrible but tell me why you would OR would not jump ship?
Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Hi everyone. I’m looking for new work actually. Currently working but I’m looking for more opportunities as my current role is a contract one. My experience lies within data science, data analysis, public health analysis, consulting, financial reporting, analysis & planning and project management. I’d appreciate if anyone could connect with me or help me out 🙂
Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.
Hi all, Can someone from McKinsey help by reviewing my resume and potentially referring me? Looking for an associate role (manufacturing) in Mckinsey's implementation wing. Yoe - 8 and have a solid understanding of operations and manufacturing. Thanks
Let me know any openings for a Regulatory reporting or Financial reporting profile. I am a Chartered Accountant by profession having 6 years of experience.
I’ve been out of consulting for 2 years. I went to company A (was a series E startup but has since went public). I left company A for company B about 3 month ago. I had a job I liked and it was relatively easy at company A but I felt like it wasn’t pushing me at all so I left. I started at company B (a series C startup) a couple of months ago and haven’t had a great time. I’m struggling and don’t really enjoy my team. My old boss at Company A just left and the company posted a job opening (cont)
Can anyone please refer me for any openings in accounts payable profile ( PTP) , i have a experience of 2 years in Account payable domain. please reach out to me if there are any referrals Or opportunities available.
Hi Fishes, I have an interview next week for a Client Partnerships Manager role at a large entertainment company. The focus would be a client partner for Tech, QSR & Finance clients. Can you all provide any insight or tips into this role whether you've done it or partnered with someone who has. Also, what do you consider the media & marketing process to be? And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input. - repost across bowls
I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
Hi y'all I have a first round skills-based interview with Accenture within their wealth management capital markets practice. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Any tips or advice on negotiating salary when receiving a job offer? How can I ask for more without the risk of losing the offer?
How do sick days work? Just realized that 1/3 of my “PTO” is actually sick days (and it’s not generous and you don’t get paid out when you leave). I’m very lucky to not get sick but does that mean in order to use some I’ll have to spontaneously say I’m ill with little advanced notice? Seems like a policy which rewards people for leaving their team in a lurch.
The points guy always gave me the creeps
My firm is virtual - all work done remotely in home office unless on client site. Haven’t traveled since mid October. It’s driving me nuts. What do you recommend doing?
Zoom interview etiquette... have some IB interviews coming up, obviously very professional groups. Backdrop options are my bedroom, a wall with a row of framed comic books, or just a blurred background... leaning towards the comics since it may spur conversation but would like some thoughts from the broader group
Genuine question: What are the most common exit options at Google BizOps? (1) For internal transfer to PM, those teams seem to prefer to hire Google engineers. (2) For internal transfer to Chief of Staff, why those teams don’t promote their own Strategy & Op folks? (3) For BizOps internal promotion, there are not many Director positions. (4) For leaving Google, I don’t know where people usually go… Please share your thoughts / correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks!
Stay or go? 3rd year associate 65k salary or go to unrelated industry fp&a focused more towards analytics for 85k
Is it normal for teams to lose it on each other on a regular basis? I’m fairly new to the B4 and never experienced it at former firms. It starts at the top and it’s starting to take a toll on my performance. Not sure if I need to suck it up and deal with it or start thinking about changing teams. TIA
Building off a thread from a few days ago on how long you waited to consultant an RE. If I am under 35 and have not been trying for 12 months, do I need to spin it to my doctor like I have? It seems bad to not give my doc the real info but I also don’t want to be turned away and I think I’ve heard you have to tell them it’s been 12 mo to get insurance to cover it. Any insight?
Anyone worried about layoffs? I saw a post about Deloitte laying off 5000 employees ... I know EY saying no lay off this year but what about other firms?
We risk exposure and bringing it home to our families every time we walk into work, yet are limited to time off work without penalty. What's your sick leave policy?
How soon is too soon to ask for a raise? I know the raises in this industry are usually pretty standardized, so wanted to hear some insight about this topic. Thanks!
Accenture strategy: How is ADP project experience viewed when decisions are made regarding career progression, bonus, etc.?
I accepted an offer from another firm and gave notice to my direct partner on Friday. He asked me to wait a few days as a courtesy before giving notice to the firm’s managing partner. The partner I work for knows several of the attorneys at the firm where I got the offer. He is now coming back to me and saying my current firm will match the salary, offer better hours, better title, etc. Needless to say, I’m torn. How bad is it to walk back on an accepted offer? We are in a smaller legal market.
3.00 UG gpa (death of a parent, caretaker of the other), 3.95 master GPA both in engineering, 730 GMAT. Have killer ECs, decent WE but not gold. I'm applying to 10 of the T15 in R1, with Cornell as my safety. Should I add more schools that are lower ranked in or just see where I land after R1? Really want to have at least 1 acceptance after R1.
Are public sector projects highly competitive to get onto at the different MBB firms? Saw a story today saying that the social sector is <5% of revenue, with some consultants saying...
