It's probably been asked a million times here, but any suggestions on what kind of postings I should be looking at besides "JD preferred" or compliance? Are there any recruiters that may specialize in getting attorneys out of the legal industry?

From the research I’ve done, there are former lawyers in every field imaginable. You name it, someone who is no longer practicing law is doing it. I think better first questions are: what are your interests? What lights you up about practicing law? What do you hate about practicing law? What are your natural strengths? Weaknesses? There are several online assessments you can take to help you uncover interests, strengths and weaknesses. In discovering potential next steps, I think it’s useful to move away from the thought of “what should I be looking at” and think about what you want to do. You have to take time and do this work, or you’ll end up miserable in another field.

You’ve already followed the path of doing what you think you should be doing and clearly you’re not satisfied. It’s time to do something different.

Check out these podcasts for inspiration:
1. The Lawyer’s Escape Pod by Megan Smiley
2. The Former Lawyer Podcast by Sarah Cottrell

Both Megan and Sarah are former lawyers and can help coach you on the path to discovering another career. Peruse LinkedIn and you’ll discover many other former lawyer coaches doing this same work.

Hope this helps!

Long story, but we’re fairly certain the individual is using Meth and appears to have started/restarted fairly recently. I work with physicians, so it’s a consensus. Additional Posts in Law Exit Opportunities

I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. Still I struggle. Should I try public interest? Not that I don’t need the money but it’s hard to work when I am so detached and find it meaningless
