I've been employed with a Connecticut city police department for almost two years now. I passed my one-year probationary period last week, and I'm now fully protected by the union. A lot of my academy classmates have already applied to other smaller agencies or left for better pay and benefits. I'm really conflicted about what I want to do. I was hoping I could get some opinions from other officers on here that went from a large agency to a smaller agency.

Has any creative here ever tried to make the leap to leave advertising and be a film maker, photographer, illustrator, etc.?? I’m so tired of ad agencies and how draining the “creative” can be. Happiness is more important than a nice paycheck for me. Any inspiration success stories advice would be so helpful right now...

So back in July I went out for a new position at my small company that was rapidly expanding (Account Manager). Was notified that I didn't get the full promotion but was told instead that I was still moving up and was going to be Customer Service/Account Manager Support. The new Account Manager had no customer service experience within our niche industry. I instead had to help help him with all customer service issues.

During my interview process I clearly stated my salary expectations of 95k-105k. They came back with an offer at 80k.
