I had classes with 35 students in them and one class with twenty. The class with twenty did way better than the other classes- no class clown, participated better, did their assignments better. Size matters

I agree. I remember a preschool class I had. I agreed to adding 3 additional students (over what i was supposed to have) and it really made the year so much tougher
In the part they averaged from 24-28, no assistance, ever.

Usually my class is pretty small but we have been understaffed so hopefully things grow soon!

I can have up to 25 students in my classroom, but i have never been maxed out. I think my biggest class we 22.

What grade level?
I will have 8 students this year in AU K-2. I’ll have 2 paras, but being in a self-contained classroom I need the other 2 to help teach small groups as they take data on each goal. Although others may think I have it easy you would be far from being right! The amount of additional work we get loaded down with is unbelievable! I’ve taught Gen Ed and special ed both for many years. Each has its strengths but each has its weaknesses. It’s up to us in how we handle these situations. Make the best of it every day- Those children deserve our best to pull their best out of them.

I once had 10 children and 3 assistants and it seemed more chaotic to me.
