I’ve had geico for about 2.5 years now. I shopped around and found cheaper rates (about $20 cheaper per month). Is it worth switching or is it better to stay with one insurer for a long time to reap the benefits?

I switch almost every renewal to get the best auto insurance rates.

As long as you’re going with a quality insurance company, definitely consider switching. Whether the $240/yr is worth, depends on you and what other policies you may bundle (home, auto, etc). Just make sure you’re comparing apples-apples (deductibles, max payout payments, replacement clause, etc)

Just a reminder that the point of insurance is to have your back during the worst case scenario. The company that will go lowest on price is also likely to be the one that will be the most difficult when you make a claim. You get what you pay for.

Loan payment question. I have two federal loans. One has no accumulated interest and is ~$110k. One has about $19k of accumulated interest (I previously made an embarrassingly low amount of money), but the total is ~$140k. While the interest is still frozen, do I: 1) make payments on the $110k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 2) make payments on the $140k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 3) make payments on the $19k of interest on the $140k loan; or 4) ??
