I’ve held titles like “Data Analyst,” “BI Developer,” and “Analytics Engineer,” and now Sr. Data Engineer, but day-to-day, my work didn’t change nearly as much as the titles did. Sometimes I wonder if I’m chasing titles more than actual skill growth. How do you all evaluate a role beyond the title, and has a misleading title ever helped or hurt you?

I have a question, I got a contract role through a recruiter. Initially the recruiter offered the hourly pay rate which was the minimum in my range. Now I got an offer from the company. Now without me asking her she increased the hourly wage to the maximum range I asked. Which makes me doubt if the company increased it or she knew the rate all along but gave me the lower rate ?

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
