Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Congrats! But don't bad mouth credit cards, they aren't evil. You just gotta have discipline and only spend what you can afford. Then rake in the points, just like when you travel.
In October, my wife and I reached a goal of paying off $840k in 10 years. It's such a weight lifted and a peaceful feeling.
I got out of debt earlier this week, so I COMPLETELY understand. This is awesome, keep up the amazing work!!!
This is the best thread I've read on FB. I'm happy for all of you who set goals and then work to meet them. Especially when the goals are towards economic freedom.
^Sorry to hear about the medical situations, but track those amounts carefully, and depending on your AGI or MAGI you can use that to push down your taxes.
Paid off 44k in student debt n cc loans this year so far
💪🏽 you got this.
Don't have credit card debt but paid of 9k so far in my first year out of college, in NYC too. We can do this!
^Agreed. Just hoping it was all this year.
Nah paying abysmally low rent, buying restaurant gc when traveling and not spending out of pocket on weekends.
In the past year, I've paid off $17k of debt! Should be able to have the rest paid off by summer. Feels good man
FYI, credit cards are one of the important pieces of your credit score. Not having a credit limit will significantly hurt your score.
Go you!
FPU will cement that thinking even more. Keep at it. The day after you're done the feeling is bliss.
Not trying to one up OP. Just trying to say it could be much worse, and gets MUCH better when that debt is gone.
I and my IRS bill respect that
I just paid off 8k of debt due to a medical emergency. Student loans are in good standing. Then 12k of credit card debt also due to medical emergency. The tragedy is prior to the medical emergency, I never had credit card.
Good on you!
Congrats, OP! Keep it up!
PWC2 - that only would have applied in the year he originally paid off the medical bills and put the debt on the CC in the first place. Sadly, no tax break when you pay off the CC.
Sad to hear about the medical emergency, PWC3 - I hope you're doing well now.
