How will that impact and improve the work you're currently doing? That's the question your boss is going to have when you ask for a raise. What do they enable you to do differently, and how is that going to benefit the company? Spell it out for them and you've got a chance at getting a raise. For promotions, which roles do these certifications make available to you that you previously would've been considered unqualified for? Figure out what those are and express your interest in them.
Is there a position/ promotion available that you want to apply for? If you were able to do your job before the certifications unless it allows you to do more I doubt they will give you a raise for it. Normally certifications make you qualified or more appealing for a job but very rarely have I seen companies give raises for certifications unless you change jobs.
The best strategy to employ when negotiating for a raise is to show how you've improved at your job. Obtaining the certifications can play into that theme. Talk about how you've become more productive at your job. Highlighting how you've completed the certifications underlines that you're dedicated to doing better work and being more productive.
I’ve done the same. The designations earned me a congratulations on Slack and nothing more. Gee, thanks.
Make sure your manager includes it in your performance review
