Hi, I am new to Canada and currently living in Vancouver, BC. I was looking for opportunities in the Financial Services industry in the Metro Vancouver Area. I have about 3 years of experience in the Banking/Financial Services and HealthTech industry and worked alongside IBM and PwC in developing and implementing cutting-edge FinTech products for business clients of a Financial Institution and led the Finance and data science team at a Health tech startup. Let me know if anyone can help me.

Impacts could be pretty devastating. We Go-Live in a few weeks and this could derail more than a few things before it happens. I’m pulling my computer out as I type this. I feel so defeated. ☹️

Sorry OP :( at the very least you’ll have some horror stories in your pocket after you exit!
This is the scenario in which I say “sorry, didn’t take my work phone with me”
If only you can fix it, I would work on it.
This is a learning moment for next time to ensure coverage when you are out and those covering for you are up to date on what's going on, potential pitfalls, and who they can go to for more information

Not acceptable, especially at your level. Also, if you give in, it sets the precedent that you are a pushover and you will continue to be taken advantage of.
This all assumes that you didn’t do something wrong, like screwing up a transition plan/knowledge transfer.
I didn’t 🙂
Screw this. Just do the bare minimum and get people access etc. if anything failure will show the client they need you.
Is it really a fire? Or can it wait until Monday? What are the consequences if you don’t fix? Impact on business? I would say to screw off because this is why you cross train
Also for the record I’m an Associate working with 3 Senior Associates!
Fuck it - you’re an Associate on Vacation and have 3 SAs to pull weight. Ultimately, ur Manager / Director is responsible so let them figure out how to solve it. Send them the files / give them what they need but turn off your phone and disconnect from email. Your team knew well in advance of your PTO and there are more than enough capable hands to do the job.
If you were working until 1 am the day before your vacation to finish something up and something related to the deliverable you just finished blew up then you dropped the ball. This work should have been completed beforehand (or transitioned).
If you have some magical type of access that no one else does then the team dropped the ball but you also need to take the initiative on some of these things on a go-forward basis.
If it’s a skillset issue (and not a “let’s have the associate do it” kind of thing) then your team royally f-ed up.
At the end of the day, though, it sucks that you’re losing a day of PTO but I would not leave the team out to dry. If they’ve been treating you well for almost three years, return the favor but make sure they understand that you’re out for the rest of whatever time you’re taking off.
All fair points
I work most of my vacations and I’ve pulled 2-3am nights for months straight. It’s your career.
