You’re not treated like a second-class citizen. But you are treated like a PD manager. Which is very different from being a consultant - different progression model, different training, etc. WLB is great. Compensation is terrific, given that PDM is a mid level talent function role, vs a front-office role, and is competitive with what an EM makes.
Yea the whole second class citizen thing is not pervasive. Some ppl behave that way but they’re just a ….. the broader population knows together we win and values everyone’s contribution. PD, Experts, Generalists, Solutions, and FSPs. Different goals, training, comp, etc. but that doesn’t force a rank. It takes an army of highly talented and motivated people to make the machine work like it does.
Lol. This whole second class citizen thing is garbage - at any company. Every company has douchebags that treat some roles/people as second class citizens. The most successful people at the firm recognize that you need to be collaborate and inclusive to create great outcomes.
