Just curious - Where were people getting sub 2% mortgages when rates were low? I had someone tell me they have a 1.99% rate. Could they have paid points to get it lower?

Points or it’s a 15 year mortgage. But still…sub 2% is impressive. The lowest of my 3 mortgages is 2.59%.

OP: just before Covid I got 2.99 rate and then refinanced about a year later to 1.79 for 15 yr fixed no points.

I have a 2.125% 15 year mtg that I didn’t pay any point for.

Sorry I didn’t answer your questions. I got this in Jan 2021. I also have a 30 yr mtg on a second home at 3% that I got in April 2021. I assume I could have gotten lower rates in either by paying points.

I have a 2.125% 15 year, no points and a 3.5% 30 year, no points from a regional midwest based bank.

Yeah like others suggested there are other types of mortgages. I got an interest only loan for something similar to those numbers. My $1.2m house cost $1.5k per month. I don’t recall all the exact numbers cuz that was almost four years ago

2.75% at 15 year loan firm rate. Total monthly including taxes, insurance interest and principal is 2,800. It was a refinance in august 2021.

I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. I’m a bit confused about share dilution and if it’s worth it for me to buy some of my stock options… thanks in adv!
