Just got an offer. $150k financial reporting manager with discretionary bonus but they can’t be specific and tell me what it is. All they say is that it depends on performance. Would you take it?

Unless you are in VHCOL then it is good offer

That must be at least a 40k raise for you!

like

Yes

like

Yuppppppppp

Can they provide a range of what they expect the bonus to be or what it has been in the past? I would think 10-25% is typical for a fin rptg mgr

I guess you have to make the decision assuming $0 bonus. Anything else would be a “bonus” hehe

like

they should be able to tell you what was budgeted/approved and what was paid out in the past compared to budget

Does this location happen to be in Boston? If so i may know. My team recently posted a role similar to this

Is $150 their first offer? If so, I would tell them it needs to be $160 since it sounds like their bonus program is less definitive than expected. Or ask for more equity.

If you already negotiated them up to $150, I’d take it. That’s a solid offer.

Unfortunately there is no equity comp in the offer

What salary I can expect from advance auto parts and microfocus. Security Engineer, yoe 6

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?

I've been a government attorney for nearly three years now and have worked in the same office/division since I passed the bar. I've yet to receive a promotion other than two cost of living increases (in sum, a pay increase of 6k over 3 years). I know this is meager, but I'm mostly ok with it, I just want to see some recognition. On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

I work in a sucky IBM cic, making $54k. It’s a full time job with regular benefits and vacation etc, it’s working with government clients. The job isn’t what I applied for & constantly changes. I don’t like that, but I’m a full time employee which is “stable employment”. Btw, I’m in the DC area.

I just got hired for a government contract through Accenture for a Business Analyst role. Pay is $65 per hour. 3 year contract. Benefits too. No PTO. Holidays off with pay, after 90 days.

Thoughts?

I have a return offer from a big 4! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience as an intern and have no complaints. Would love to go back.

However, a bit confused if I should try and recruit with MBB’s or if I should accept the big 4 offer already and take the sign on bonus?

Would it be a blunder to NOT try recruiting with MBB’s ? Besides the monetary aspect, what are the other things I’d have to think about?
