Wendys twitter interactions are pure gold.
Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

1. They've to pay for your 'home' flight
2. You've 60 days to find a new job without any repercussions on your immigration status
3. Keep your head high; plenty of us have gone through the immigration nonsense to finally be resilient to the challenges
@OP - Similar thing happened to me at Deloitte last year. No notice and they just terminated me when I came back from vacation. Totally unexpected and I had not even finished year end review etc. Think business was just dipping in our group.
Anyways I was on a H1B, was looking earlier but ramped by networking very aggressively. Got 3 job offers. The companies usually apply consular visa for which you might get RFE as well. You will have to go out and comeback in (I did it in Mexico).
There is also no said rule about the 60 days. It is a myth cooked up on websites and forums. You can technically and legally stay till date of expiration of your visa, but lawyers usually don't recommend it. This is a very grey area. EY has to give you access to an attorney and a flight ticket back home. Speak to lawyer and strategize best steps. Have all your questions consolidated!
Don't worry too much and trust things will workout. Sometimes these guys are assholes in they way they deal with the employment of people on visas , but we just got to deal with it I guess.
Good luck and please ping if you have any questions!
C1....possibly. Just a job though. I'll find something else. Just didn't appreciate that way it was done.
KPMG 2 there was an overlap with 2 projects in the beginning. Hence the bump.
Good luck OP and EY1 aounds like an absolute douche- stfu trumpfan
OP said L1. So maybe 60 days doesn't apply to that? I only know h1b has 60 days as grace period.
How much for the S4? Miles/year?
Clearly weren't here 2 months ago when pwc was having their shitfruffle moment
P1: you are fake news and spewing false information or down right ignorant. A student is in F1 visa while studying, after graduating a student is allowed to be in the US for 12 - 18 months called "Optional Practical Training - OPT" during this period he/she is allowed to gain employment and obtain practical exposure.
After 18 months, the employing company has to initiate H1B visa if they were to continue employment.
L1 visa is specifically meant for intra company transfer, may be a transfer from offshore facility EY India to EY US.
Your statement about EY hiring students and asking them to renew student visa so they can employ is false, inaccurate and stupid.
Its amazing how threads like these expose the closet h1b haters that work amongst us. BA1 do you actually believe that blood sucking companies like EY, kpmg or D would hire people for charity? If you ever dared to do some recruiting with your firm, you will know how easy it is to fill up roles
K4, Everything you just wrote is plain dumb. What is that that doesn't let you leave the US and how are you so embedded into the system that you need to "slave" here? Sell you house, pay off you loans, pack your belongings and piece out for a better future some place else. No one holds you here, US corporations can do just fine without you. Given your credentials you can probably easily find a job at your home, wherever it is, but somehow you prefer to enjoy the comfortable and secure life here... well, leave and open up your spot for someone, who actually likes it and wants to make a difference
To OP. 1. Become a Director with a meaningful budget, 2. Invite EY to RFP, 3. Then have fun with them.
K4 and MC1 - this thread wasn't for you guys man! Create another thread and talk about your personal shit! Coming back to the point. Any updates OP? What's going on? What did the lawyers say?
SA1 .....I spoke with Adam Rosen from murthy.com. they come highly recommended for immigration law. $200 for 20 minutes. They are a tad bit expensive.
:(
So sorry, OP
OP that's brutal. What was your util%?
SA1 I'll try...lets see what they say.
Oh no! Sorry to hear OP! :( was anyone else let go too?
EY2 I do not know if anyone else was let go
M1 from what I read online, I do not have status from day 1 after termination. But from what you guys are saying I can stay 60 days. I'll speak with the lawyers and see. Thanks for the info!
I am so sorry! This sucks. Sending you good thoughts and hoping and praying something good comes your way.
