Cool story.
Dawg you're a corporate counsel, you can be sanctimonious if you're a public Defender or do legal aid. Not corporate counsel.

Yes you are such a good person for thinking every law firm associate is a soulless slave who doesn’t care about their clients. Congrats
Listen buddy, you are either built for the field or you are built for the bleachers. While you are on ridiculous conference calls with stimulant-addled sales folks telling you what to do and sending back “looks good”’s to outside counsel all day, I’m deep in the weeds of Word, slowly molding the market to my will drip by drip.

Such a drama queen. All you’re selling in a firm are hours of your life.
That’s all well and good, but I still tell law students and even new lawyers to stay humble! The practice of law, regardless of the area and/or environment, can bring out character traits in a person that they did not even realize they had. Some are good and some are not! Stay humble!

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Like, at all.
Source: me. Been in house, small firm, boutique, and big law.
I'm modestly overworked. I wouldn't say I sold my soul... I don't mind the money. It's what they pay me with.
Please take a step back and reconsider your words, OP. There’s nothing wrong with your post except for the “sell my soul” part and the resulting implication that you’re morally superior to everyone else. From one in-house counsel to another, I will tell you that working in-house as a “Corporate Counsel” is pretty much the epitome of selling your soul. If your really want to hold the moral high ground, quit your job and go to work as a legal services lawyer or something.
