Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Well, if you’re the interviewee and they didn’t list the salary range of the job description then it’s understandable that you wouldn’t know what the range is. Because in this economy you really can’t afford to be picky. Now, if you’re interviewer, you should know, but sometimes they still try to dodge the question which means salary is going to be depressingly low.
There are still a lot of job posts without salary ranges so it would make sense that they don't know that particular range. However, a good candidate will research the role and get a ballpark range based on research.
HR professionals, do you know the salary range when you post a position? My bet is yes you do along with the hiring manager.
Yeah it's only mandated in some states for employers to list salary ranges, so this happens a lot. Not to mention that sometimes the salary range is like 100k, and it's very unclear which part of it is the *real* salary range. I've almost learned to stop trusting salary ranges, but I always try to know what I am worth in terms of market rates and my experience
Too many times. If the salary isn’t listed, I assume it’s either low or they haven’t locked it in yet. I always ask in round one, so no use wasting time. What’s the most evasive answer you’ve gotten?
