been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? Advice on managing up / enduring toxic deal teams? I’m at the point where my stomach drops any time I see something come in from certain people. Is there a difference in value between pursuing an MBA at an accredited, but not ivy, and a certification (business analytics or CIA)?

Does one provide more value than the other? I've heard the MBA's shine is dimming and don't want to waste time if a certificate can do the same for me.

I work in field sales as an IC. My aspirational career path is to end up in people leadership. Recently, an Inside management position opened up that’s been brought to my attention by the hiring director. Question is, is going back Inside the right move to get into started in leadership? Or should I continue down the field path and wait until those field management slots open up?
