L.E.K. Consulting curious: what’s stopping people at LEK from establishing boundaries? What’s stopping you from telling (not asking) your team that you’ll be offline to get dinner? What’s stopping you from telling your team “I am logging off now. Finished all items discussed earlier,” rather than asking for permission? As much as employers should promote WLB, my opinion is that it is up to employees to set boundaries. It’s a push and pull, and if you aren’t pushing, you have no one to blame.

Worst luck ever. My group was very slow from Jan through may, so I won’t hit my hours, but am now (and will continue to be) very busy…. About to do 1990 hrs the most painful way possible. Fml.

Sometime I feel like I'm operating at lower capacity than during the height of Covid trying to navigate billables and no childcare/remote school. Anyone else feel this way? Are we just burnt out from all the working nights and weekend in 2020/2021?

I am on stage 4 of the hiring process for a job as a Sr Art Director for a CPG brand. I was given a project to develop a product launch. The directions are vague. There are so many ways I could take the project but I’m curious what kind of outline and level of depth you expect from a project like this? I was planning on doing research separately & share so they can see what I normally do, and then a deck showing visuals, mood boards, and messaging ideas etc. Does that seem right?
