Start CFA path. Worst case having CFA Level 1 candidate on your resumé provides potential employer with a key that “Hey this person is serious about finance and is taking it upon themselves to become more knowledgable.”
I am a little confused why one year at a Fortune 500 company wouldn’t help you get a role. I know multiple ppl who left after one year and found new roles in this market with minimal other experience. Normally rotational programs you do not get let go after one year if they are a two year program so I’m curious as to the reasoning. You should keep applying but express interest in non accounting areas. Most stuff you learn on the job anyway
Citi 1 - I had a question since you said you were laid off from Citi last year:
Were you able to apply for internal roles even when you were on non-working notice period? I was wondering if it will still be possible to log in to Workday as an internal applicant once overall system access is removed. Technically we are still considered citi employees even during non-working notice period, so I am assuming there should be a way to log in internally to workday or maybe they give special code or smth? Thanks🙏🏻

Geez man sorry to hear that. Freddie Mac has some pretty good roles open for fp&a. Only catch is you’d have to be in Virginia since it’s hybrid.
