Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

So for a fact there is layoffs in RC/MC. Non director level, it is a small scale RIF in target areas and industry groups. Non PIP based but a rebalance before the new year. However I know a number of partners and directors that haven't delivered being let go as well which is great news!!! Right type of layoffs
Can confirm at least one Manager layoff. I am CIOA and they were looking to bring another person on board to replace the laid off guy. I was copied on the thread during some resourcing discussions. Was shocked myself.
The 2 MC I know were out of Chicago
K3 - what practice? You can't just say MC Chicago because we have been growing and hiring steadily all of last year and I have heard of no one getting the boot.
8 people in CIOA laid off last week. Confirmed my director
I believe most are within IT Strategy in CIOA (Chief Information Officer Advisory for @Kpmg 11)
NY FM is planning on hiring.. definitely not that group
We fired a SA but he was on a PIP all year. That's also not a layoff
Yea due to resource action is not layoff its fired
From my understanding, it was advisory wide
How have they been orchestrating the layoffs? Seems it would be hard if we aren't in the office at all and at client sites. Has it been over the phone or what? Who does them? The PML?
Why would there be layoffs if the firm as a whole grew ~10% last year. There will be a lot of directors / acquisition employees / direct entry people leaving that didn't make their numbers that were promised when entering but that's not a layoff. CIOA - grew as a group, promoted a bunch of people FM- tough year, likely let go under performers and directors who didn't make their promised billings. You said blanket MC - that contains all of the above.
If we acquire someone or pull from a competitor sometimes they have 3 years before they can really start generating revenue for the firm. If the "layoffs" were director level, they didn't bring in the revenue set in their goals, therefore they are gone. Not a layoff. That's fired

In CIOA
Haven't seen or heard anything.
I'm Fed CIO Advisory, we can't staff up fast enough.
Weren't the MC ones a few weeks ago?
What is COIA?
Sorry CIOA?
This is the first I've heard of layoffs. Wow
