I recently posted about moving to Antigua and Barbuda to live and work remotely on the digital nomad visa. Several people expressed interest in how I'm doing it, so I created an instagram. I'm documenting the steps of emigrating including pet import licenses, enrolling kids in an international school, cooking local food, and assimilating to life in the Caribbean. For those who are interested, check me out at:

I am recent Post Graduate with focus in Finance in Vancouver. I am attempting CFA L1 and with non tech and a non CPA background, any words of wisdom if I should apply in the current spring recruitment cycle at KPMG Canada?

Majority of the positions require a preference towards CPA and even non CPA posting indicate a preferred preference towards CPA. Should I still apply or preferably seek other positions? Also seeking referrals for the same

Good advice! How did you get get a SC role with 1 YOE? SC at Booz requires at least 5 years.
I will say that it depending on what group/team you’re in at BAH. the average to get promoted is 1.5-2.5 yoe, at least in my team, even as a high performer. good for you to come in as SC w only 1 yoe
Yeah, so going from SC->Associate is mostly a question of displaying expertise and competence in front of clients. Associates are generally considered senior individual contributors and will likely be asked to lead a small-medium sized workstream (3-5 people). SCs can also lead workstreams (though this is highly team and contract dependent), so showing that you can lead one or two peers would be good as well. The firm publishes what are known as firmwide expectations and there are bolded ones for each level. You pretty much have to be able to demonstrate all of the bolded expectations at the next level to get promoted. So once you start, track down that document and make sure you’re working towards those bolded expectations in the Associate column.
Thank you. I will track down that doc!
Probably too late and I don't know your experience at Guidehouse, but I would never wish Booz Allen on anyone. I worked there for 8 years, Consultant promoted to Sr Con then Associate. It was awful for my mental well being. Guidehouse was the complete opposite, I love it here and don't plan to leave. Happy to chat further.
It's a mix of decent client work and some BD exposure. Look for the firm wide expectations document, it'll help align goals to the expectations of the Associate level.
