I’m relatively new to consulting, so I have a question for the old-timers that have done their time. What generally happens at Accenture or in general within consulting when there is a recession? Who are the first to be laid off? What can a Senior analyst do to make themselves “harder” to lay off?
Howdy! Any 🐟 recently stayed in a Marriott hotel? Planning to spend couple of nights, and wanted first hand experience of cleanliness and safety measures being followed at a Marriott and your thoughts on if I should risk or no. Thanks 😊

Currently I’m at JP Morgan as a RB , getting my SIE, 6 and 63 but I just found out I’m unable to get the Series 7 unless the role requires it. I like that Fidelity has some positions are WFH. My question is should I stay with JP Morgan for a year ( don’t have to pay back my licenses) or just apply Financial Service Rep as Fidelity sponsors Series 7, 63 and CFP. I’ll be taking a pay cut Currently 73k salary including incentive at JP and Financial Rep at Fidelity 50-60k salary.
I am an Account Executive and work in the programmatic team as part of a wider agency, but I’m not sure this is where I want to be. I want something more collaborative, creative, and less to do with numbers and budgets.

Signed an offer today because the culture, team and fit felt right. Had 3 offers and in process with 2 other firms. Started to get too wrapped with firm prestige and potential exit ops and realized I was ignoring my gut instinct and aspects I was more passionate about. Fb is great, but I think I spend too much time on here and started drinking the koolaid to much in terms of rankings and exit ops.
I got an opportunity to join Microsoft in "Microsoft Teams" product team in Bangalore. Anyone can give me an idea about this team? As we are seeing many layoffs across the industry, can someone tell me how safe is to join "Microsoft Teams"?

How to deal with post-breakup guilt? A few months ago I broke up with my college boyfriend of 2.5 years. We had plans to move to a new city together and get married. But as reality set in, I realized I didn’t want to spend my life with him. TLDR; He really let himself go, had no interest in things I found fun, was uncompromising, had a terrible work ethic, delusions of grandeur, unrealistic goals that he put zero effort towards, etc. At the time of the break up his inability to get a job (cont.)

Lenny’s Newsletter has to be the most compelling newsletter/content in a very long time (if ever) that I’ve been subscribed to or paid for. The topics and storytelling is so spot on and the way he engages community is an exemplar – I learn so much from his content. Thoughts? And any other recommended newsletters or substacks?
