Quant is a math problem with market sizing, not like one of their videos you see on their site as a disclaimer.
Don't make the same mistake as I did a few months back. Also, be organized
Cases at most firms are a mix of quant and strategy, but LEK explicitly splits them into 2 separate types.
The quant case will be very math heavy. You can expect multiple questions that require math, including market sizing, profitability analysis, etc.
The strategy case will have pretty much no math, and you'll be tested on your conceptual understanding of the problem. If I recall correctly, mine basically was a framework followed by several brainstorming questions (what could be the causes of X? what potential solutions are there to Y?).
Make sure you're well prepared on the behavioral side. I thought my cases were fairly straightforward but I'm pretty sure I was dinged because I blanked on "why LEK" lol
yea, i think mine was like 20 mins case, 10 mins fit, more or less, for both interviews
strategy is the structure + creative portion
You're spot on with quant, though, they're not always market sizing (could be another format to test your analytical capability).
Strategy is equivalent to Client X wants to go Y, how do you assess if that's a good idea?
Crucial that you have a framework for approaching these, i.e., I'll determine if doing Y is a good idea by assessing 1-5, now let's deep dive into items 1-5, etc.
It’s not even hard. Just think through the math before digging into it
Any insights on how to prep for the final round?
