For the people who earned the SHRM-CP, did you feel it was worth it? I have an indirect HR position, been applying for more HR focused positions and wondering if this would help. I got the CAPM (certified associate of project management) in December, but that hasn’t really changed things. Would love some opinions before working on another certification!

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Senior associate with 3 YOE at 130k TC (115 base). Final interview for a PM role at a small company coming up, is 140k base too much to ask for? The opportunity cost of leaving my connections, fast progression, brand recognition, etc makes it hard to justify leaving for less.

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

I think I read about some kind of process where when an applicant reaches out to a current student or alum for a 1:1 and makes a good impression, the student/alum can send a message to the adcom letting them know? Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay.
