Shoobx Looking at roles at Fidelity Investments, most the Financial Consultant role. I would appreciate some insight on the day to day of the role, the comp structure, and life at Fidelity. Thanks!

I would probably avoid Fid if you can. Bit of a shitshow at the minute.

I’ll also let you know FC is a branch role and you are unlikely to be hired directly into it. You will most likely need to be an Investment Consultant first. That’s a fidelity rule that I have rarely seen broken.

Tax Senior here. I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I just got told they’re firing me. Should I expect severance? Have other people been fired for similar? What did you do with your career?

I’m curious. What would you say is the best industry / sector for…1. WLB, 2. Great people / team, 3. Exit opp’s., and 4. Overall (mix of the above). Goes without saying the obvious “it depends on office, team, project, client, etc.” So this is an ask for general observations.

Has anyone who's worked in HR, Finance, or another role with visibility to compensation information been able to use that as leverage for salary negotiations?

To put it bluntly, I know certain people with less experience and a lower performance rating are getting paid more than me due to my role working with payroll data. I suspect this was due to the fact that I did not counter offer when I accepted this role, which was a few months ago, and now I regret it.

Hello fishes, recently I have received the job offers from Akamai & Nasdaq with kind of equivalent pay. I've an experience of 2.7 yrs in Java Backend. In Nasdaq, I feel the project is slightly on better side and also domain driven in comparison of Akamai. The only thing that is troubling me is 90 days notice policy in Nasdaq. Just want to check if it's a bad thing or would it still be worthy against the project & domain.
