Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

I had to overcome a huge hurdle to start cultivating more social connection, self care, and hobbies: Workaholism. To be able to pick these positive habits up, we should try to understand why we haven’t before. This article touches on the internal drive to neglect ourselves for work and where it can come from. I know that for me, working on my internal impulse to work was the key to finally getting some balance. https://www.fastcompany.com/40531406/there-are-four-types-of-workaholic-and-none-of-them-work

In the fed space, $235k with 7 YOE is fantastic. Outside of niche high dollar roles or McKinsey/BCG's tiny fed footprints, you'd likely be >$50k less than that.
Thank you! I knew McK had some govt roles with higher TC but not interested in that kind of WLB. I came from Big 4 so was also curious about comp there if I had stayed. Appreciate the insight
Sounds like task wise you are doing a lot but you are also doing everything within 40-45 hour per week, which is considered great wlb in my opinion for that salary and YOE. It’s probably the stress that’s making you doubt your salary
You're totally right, I'm always having to think about 3 or more ongoing projects. It feels weird to say I don't have mental bandwidth when I'm only working 40h but I think it's still draining in general.
That’s a fantastic salary for 7YOE, what’s the COL? The advantage of wearing multiple hats is that it allows you to perfect a few different roles, and you can choose what role you want come exit time.
This is normal in small boutique companies, nothing out of the ordinary. Congratulations 🎉
HCOL (not Bay area expensive though). Thanks, that's a good perspective on exit! I haven't thought much about what comes next, there's still a lot of opportunity to learn and grow.
235k with 7 yoe is excellent compensation (depending on specialty)
It is good. Could be much better
Or much worse. aws.
