6 YOE ,14Lacs lpa, working at tech Mahindra for last 11 months. I got offer from tcs 16.5 lacs. I have wfh in tech Mahindra. but tcs are saying i have to join the office. I’ve been a Software Developer at FedEx for over 3 years, making 75k plus a small bonus of ~$6k. I’m fine with the lower salary because of the great work/life balance, but seeing how much others are making at similar companies makes me think I’m getting ripped off. Question as a woman that continues to undervalue herself. I have an interview w a large company as a product designer w 3+ years exp, they had asked me what my salary expectations were. I asked them what their budget for the position was, and they had said 200k. It was 80k more than I had in mind, so in the moment I agreed. Is company project always better than personal project in an interview? I have 15- 20 minute to present 1 UX project and Idk which one I should pick.
Project 1: App design. Personal project. More “typical” UX project.
Project 2: Non-traditional UX (Not an app or website). Company project. Very little design variations but shows research and teamwork.
I assume that interviewers will see both case studies before the interview. Should I just ask them which one they want OR show my company project?


How do you detect distributed system leader failure other than with a timeout?

Reading DDIA and it alludes to other options, but then just says most systems use a timeout (which makes sense, but curious)


I have joined a start-up.
It's all good except for the fact that they don't adhere to the end time sometimes.
They schedule team meetings even after the end time and nobody objects to it.
I don't like it as I'm losing my personal time. I'm hesitant to say coz others r ok with it.
Can I just speak up and not attend the meetings ?
