Looking for advice from those who transitioned from audit to financial analyst/fp&a. All interviewers ask about financial modeling projects which I don’t have, what other skills could combat this lack of experience?

Auditing financial modelings?

Have you worked on projects that had investments, acquisitions, debt? what model did they use that you had to understand before you could perform testing?

There are courses you can take on financial modeling. That sounds like the best bet

None. Learn it on your own time if you have to.

Today is the official last day at PwC. Mixed feeling, gonna miss my coworkers but excited about my next job.

For your resume, how many bullet points under your XP with your firm straight out of college is too many? I’m a senior and don’t have anything else since college that’s relevant. Also, how do you feel about a small section above the bullets detailing the position (where the bullets are more about your achievements in the position)

Just apply. Good vibes to you all this late Thursday night.

I loathe tax, I want to work to live not live to work. Switching fields means starting all over again. I feel torn. Anyone have success stories? Advice?

So.. if I put in my notice and they let me go immediately due to going to a competitor (I heard that pwc pays for the two weeks regardless) - can I immediately start at the new job? Wouldn’t that mean that I am on both payroll for two weeks? Is that an issue?

If I’m making 65k in my first year of audit, should I jump ship now before I reach senior for a job as a “senior accountant” with 85-95k comp? Or should I wait until I reach senior associate and then jump to the same 90-100k range?

And then 4 days later hiring manager sets up a phone conversation letting me know they still have other finalist they are interviewing and will let me know when t they make a decision. I also have about 5 years of work experience (incl accounting) prior to joining EY, so not overly concerned about leaving before promo if the timing works out that way

Have a third and final interview for a senior accountant position tomorrow with the director of tax in industry. I previously spoke to the director and CFO. Is this is a formality? What should I expect? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I got an email on Friday at 1:30 asking for my availability this week for an interview and I responded back Saturday at 11:30 and sent the recruiter an email letting him know I responded and I was looking forward to the interview but I haven’t heard back.
