Looking for suggestions on comfortable work shoes! Our office is business casual. I usually wear suits/ dress+ blazer or slacks and nice sweater and flats. Looking for something really comfortable that is still professional looking that isn’t flats. I don’t wear heels!

I will say this I love working with the students . I love getting to know them . I smile to myself when I go to work . I still feel this way after last week being asked my three different people about doing something where I told them that I was not going to do. following day I was then ambushed by admin (where I have never felt more like nothing. Following this encounter with people in charge I had an anxiety attack. This was terrible and I have no trust . TAs are mistreated. Similar story?

Been on a project for 2 weeks and thinking it’s not for me. The manager is kind of rude when I ask for help/direction, but he always says to ask if things are uncertain. He always has this condescending attitude and just keeps telling me that he expects more of someone at my level, C. I just keep feeling anxious that I’m not meeting expectations and feel reluctant to ask for help. Anyone in the same boat?

I had an old boss join my company recently. They weren’t my direct report at my old company, but was my manager’s manager. Well, my new boss took me aside for a meeting and stated “there’s a negative perception going around about you”. She stated that her, my old boss and another member of current leadership were talking about the way I speak. I’ll be asking my last job for a letter of recommendation but I’m not sure who to ask. My boss, who is lovely and would write an amazing LOR. Or my boss's boss who would put minimal effort in but it would have more weight.

Have you ever accidentally insulted your boss, pretty hard core, in a meeting? What I do? It was a total foot in mouth, but it was a huge meeting. I feel like if I avoid an apology it might actually be better for me so that we can pretend I didn't realize it was insulting and was just harmlessly talking...

I need some advice. I have some co workers that are really disgruntled and complain about their jobs a lot to me. It really bring me down and makes it hard for me to work because I get constant messages about how much they hate it here. I’m friends with them outside of work so I don’t want to explode on them. What do you recommend I do/say to them? I want our friendship to last but I can’t stand how they talk right now. And honestly some of their bitching is valid but some isn’t imo.

I’m at a mid size transactional firm. I’m a total night owl and my partners have OK’d me starting the workday at around 11am because I regularly work until midnight or later. I get so much more done after dark! I still get some side eye from other associates, but 🤷🏽‍♀️
