Hi everyone!
I've been offered a job at Publicis Sapient as a front-end developer (React Js).
What kind of work culture, work load and tech stack exposure should I be expecting?
I'm having 1 year experience.
I've also got offers from IndiaMART InterMESH Limited, Amdocs, Verizon and Collegedunia.
All for the role of front-end web developer.
I'm very confused between all of them.
Anyone hiring a sustainability or program manager/ninja? A bit about me:
1. Trained as an urban planner, I am a public policy and sustainability professional with 5+ years of global experience working with UN entities, governments, private companies, and communities
2. Most experience in managing and reporting sustainability programs, expanding and strengthening stakeholder engagements, and driving win-win policy solutions

The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?
What…..

That's very strange. Don't let them bring you down. It's a really weird comment and inappropriate as it has nothing to do with your work at this role
I feel like you need to go to HR. Does this old boss have any reporting relationship to you now?
My boss told me during this conversation that my old boss would actually be having some management responsibilities over me as well but I later found out from a higher leader that that specific information was false and that my old boss would not be managing me in any form or capacity
What does energetic mean in this context? This sounds like one of those personality based evaluations given to women without clear information about what it means in terms of output and performance. 😏
That’s very weird. Ask why did you say that? Can you provide an example? Have a genuine conversation to understand if there is some real feedback or not. Don’t let a person effect your brand.
Thank you very much!
Bring it back up, and say you were surprised to hear that but want to make sure you can alleviate their concerns. Ask for examples of the behavior at this job. If they hem and haw, ask them to tell you next time they notice it. If they mention what your old grand boss told them, say very clearly that "I worked with xx a long time ago, and I don't think I have the same development priorities that I did then. If you see something you think I can improve here, I want to know that, but I'd appreciate it if we could focus feedback on what you've noticed about our work together here"
I do also want to add - your performance from another company is, I believe, a form of retaliation? Maybe I’m wrong? But they cannot use that as a way to evaluate you today
I felt the same! It feels more like a form of bullying.
So sorry that happened to you! I would ask for more information about what it means to be “energetic “?

Wow. What’s her current role in your company? Are you working with her in any way? And did you interact with her a lot at your last company?
Rising Star
That’s wild. I’d probably try talking to your boss and saying you were surprised by what they said, because your last direct manager never gave you that feedback. Additionally, you appreciate all feedback but would find it most helpful if it’s based on your performance in your current role. And then ask for specific examples of being “energetic,” how you’re not showing it, and what they want to see.
Thanks to each and everyone of you for your kind and helpful insight in helping me to navigate this!
Also to add, when she said energetic she told me it was referring to the way I spoke on meetings and calls I have not been here long so I am still learning a lot. I am also unsure what the entire conversation was between her, my old boss, and the other member of senior leadership nor do I know exactly why my name was brought up.
Would it be a bad idea to let them know I am going to HR about this issue? Or should I just take this to HR without them know?
I would go to HR and ask if things you share will be shared with your manager first. I wouldn’t tell them that I was going to HR. Going to HR may escalate things. But if you can confidently share it with HR then at least it’ll be noted in case they escalate things
