Has any frame of “real footage” in the history of advertising ever been real?
Rising Star
We asked real people on the street and they all said no.
I fully agree with you. I love the idea too but it’s all so staged and you can feel it. Marmite does this kind of thing well.
Nothing is real.
Agreed, it makes a decent idea almost cringey. This could have been so much better to get real reactions even if they’re a bit boring. This is too staged
Totally fake. A production would never allow a drone to be flown over the head of a car driving unbeknownst to the driver. Plus the real people acting is very bad.
Movie magic
I loved it and could tell it was staged (mainly bc of the logistics required) but I don’t think consumers will realize that or particularly care either way. It’s a fun idea/execution and smart strategically.
Love it. Best Pepsi work in years.
I dont disagree
Wow. Even folks on the inside believe things are real… it’s all staged to some degree.
I recall a Tom Green skit where he followed pizza delivery guys and tried to sell pizzas of his own for cheaper prices at the door. Couldn’t help but think this was derivative of that skit. But I could be wrong.
You’re probably wrong
Advertising is the business of telling stories. Does it matter if it’s real or fake as long as it’s a great story? I don’t know, but I love this idea.
