May be a very un usual question. How do you guys leave your aging parents and go onsite ? I have always wanted to go onsite now when I have an offer in my hand, I am feeling very selfish in leaving my parents and go onsite.
Even though my parents live in north and I live in BLR, I feel still I am call away but going onsite is giving me a guilt feeling .

Please be generous and don’t make fun pls , I am 32 single male child .

I have similar issues, but I have decided that will take them along, if it is possible. Otherwise yahi thik he

like

Take them along is an option however you need to check if they are adaptable to new culture and environment . We all make this mistake where pull out parents along coz of our own career and then the consequences can be seen in their health. I would say love and care is ok but make sure they remain active there

Exactly the same issue with me. Unable to decide what is correct 😞.

Depends, if u r in uae then u can reach most part of the country faster than staying within the country

Bro which country?
Tech stack u work on?

Single male child, means you do have sister , ask her to take care of parents. Make sure you do financial help and visit every year. Don’t take burden as parents are responsibilities of all the kids. Spend 3-5 yrs , come back if it does not suit you

It says ‘single’. He doesn’t have siblings. Kya ulta explain karte ho tum usko.

funny

Sometimes it's ok to be selfish. By shifting across the border, can you arrange a best care for your parents in your absence , please go for it ( I mean if the earnings are worth) . Just do not cut all strings from your parents and may be you can make them nice with yourself in sometime.

Hi,

Don’t feel bad as it’s not being selfish first. Secondly, you can discuss your concerns with parents as after talking with them you’ll feel relaxed and can decide better. Thirdly, no parent wants to come in between of their child’s happiness, they always want us to grow & successful. Fourthly, you’re already living away from your parents and so if you move on-site that should not be any different. Lastly, if you have resources distance doesn’t matter. Only matters is the bond and togetherness you’ve create.

One more thing I forgot to add the best would be take them along with u.

God bless you dude

Wanted to share this somewhere.
My father has been very aggressive and keeps on creating quarrel like situations at home day in and day out.
I care for him a lot. However, i have tried both calm and aggressive tones during quarrels, but it also didn't help.
Now it's becoming unbearable to keep on getting involved with his quarrels over little things... considering this scenario I am also not proceeding with matrimonial process as not sure how the girl will handle this

Have final round interviews at BCG tomorrow. I'm at S& right now at the SA level. Father had a sudden health issue come up this week and it's got me off my game. I'll ultimately need to support him financially for at least a year while he recovers. Not complaining, but has me considering just dropping out of the interview process. Is that crazy? Is the opportunity with BCG really so far beyond what I have already with S&? Is dropping a better look than interviewing and doing terribly?

I'm a US citizen living abroad I applied almost 11 months ago for my spouse. Married for years, kid. I wait and wait. It seems this will take 2 years, maybe more. I feel trapped. On one side the US system demands I work and domicile in US, the other side says families should be prioritized to stay together. My spouse has had enough of the process. I feel trapped abroad and locked in a dysfunctional system. We're just in limbo, it's depressing

Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

UK market is open only for niche skillsets ( Data engineer + analytics). Firms aren't interested in sponsoring rest all skill sets, as they can be filled internally. They have limited quota every year, and are very choosy when it comes to allocation. Preference is first given to EU nationals and then Asians during shortlist stage.

Referral works, but the person who is referring you should have enough clout in the organization to present your profile!
