The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

Unless you’re not in good standing here why risk promotion progression
Coach
This doesnt make sense lol. Thats coming from someone who moved to BCG from another firm and doesnt drink the koolaid
Don’t do it
I don’t see any advantage to this unless you currently dislike it at BCG
The downside of moving will mainly be losing your BCG network you’ve built up and going back 1 year in tenure. These downsides don’t sound that big to me so I’m not sure why the comments here are so discouraging. If you do move to MI, you will gain the base and cohort to specialize in ops and implementation without sacrificing progression timeline or pay. If this is what you want, its something to seriously consider.
what’s your current role at BCG?
Not really interested in those but more of the operations and IG cases. I am currently working with staffing to do so but just thinking about other options. Thanks for the help!
Yeah, McKinsey pays less and when they kick you out, you get less time to look for a job and they do it way faster. Like, they'll kick you out for someone saying they didn't like working with you with no examples of screw ups.
I came into McK as an experienced hire and regret it.
I'd stay at BCG imho
