Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

I had this same situation happen to me. Recruiter reached out, they asked about my salary expectations, I instead asked them what the band was, which was pretty similar to my expectation. Once I got the offer, the salary they offered me was nearly 20% over what the recruiter said was the high end of the salary band. This was awesome, but felt like I couldn’t negotiate, so wonder if they do this on purpose

Well, if McKinsey were harder to get into than Harvard, you’d see higher comps.
I mean…..SOMEONE has to do it. Was surprised it even took that long. Happy to carry the flag and be that guy. 😂
no no Deloitte is better obv
From what I’ve heard anecdotally the only roles that really pay market leading are the standard management consulting client facing roles. Everything else seems to be pretty comparable to B4.

Deloitte is equally paid to McKinsey around the globe for every client facing management consulting role and YoE confirmed

nah it's not you it's OP
Salaries bands at every level vary greatly at D, so I am not surprised. Salary is dependent on many factors, so it is certainly possible that some can make as much as Mk.
In a post MBA role all companies pay similar. The divergence in pay occurs at the higher levels and the faster promotion timeline. Friend of mine at B4 will spend the nearly the same amount of time to go from Director to Partner as I will from Consultant to Partner
Basically all the salaries can be found online pretty easily across firms. I’d check that. Might be a different level role or something
Hmm didn’t realize that! At McK it’s very much standardized and well documented what you make at each role (of course there’s ranges based on performance) so figured that was the same across most firms
DBB ftw
Probably because it’s a level down from what you are now. For example, a B4 manager makes a similar amount to a MBB associate. MBB managers make a lot more than B4 managers though.
MBB salaries have ranges too. The bottom end of the range is generally on the high end of the B4 range or sometimes above it for the same level.
At the Partner/Sr Partner level, McK generally pays material more than other consulting Firms
Maybe Deloitte is just overpaying you. I’ll call Dan and let him know.
How does the bonus and other benefits differ? What is your expected salary growth at both firms look like?
