Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I've been in for 3 and my past schoolmates have gotten senior roles and one an ACD. Personally think that's major BS.
yeah i would say 5 years experience unless you want constant skepticism from your peers
it could be 10+ years if you have mediocre talent and a fraction of that time if you're wildly talented. which are you?
4-5 years if you're good. 6-7 if you aren't. Digitas always seemed really stingy with titles to me.
Agree with FCB1: 5-7 years. But it also depends on what you do and where you are. As a general tip, if there's an agency you're interested in, check out their job board. They'll almost always put "minimum years of experience required" under the roles they post. It's also easier to rise at a smaller or lesser-known shop where you can stand out. At some bigger global agencies, it's significantly harder — unless you're an all-star. Or just really good at bullshitting.

Made senior copywriter after less than 3, which sounds fast, but had senior-level responsibilities since pretty much day 1 so.
