Boutique vs T2? All else equal
Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.

Most likely your headset, first step. Ask for a new headset. If you are working from home, it could be your internet connection.
The most professional way to respond to this situation is to apologize, let the caller know you're having difficulty understanding them, and ask them to repeat themselves in a different way. Using speakerphone or a headset often helps to create a clearer reception and eliminates the fuzziness.
You can say the connection is bad on your end, and hang up and call them back. Sometimes the connection isn't strong and that can help.
