My direct supervisor informed us that she is resigning which leaves just me on our team. I told the director about my already planned AND approved PTO for this summer. They said they will also be on PTO during those same times and that we will need to work out between us what needs immediate responses and what doesn’t when we are out. I will be out of the country and unable to respond plus I don’t want to. I’m going on vacation to get AWAY from work. How do I professionally tell them “yeah, no”?

Love how BS credit score is. Got my score up to 800 last month only to go on vacation so my credit utilization went up to 8% due to the increased spending and my score dropped 35 points because I didn’t immediately pay the balance after charging the purchases. I always pay my balance in full each month and have never missed a payment, how is 8% credit utilization determined to be that big of a risk that my score got immediately wrecked, I don’t understand

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.
