My job title says “Strategic Planning,” but some days it feels more like Strategic Mediation. I spend more time resolving turf wars between Product and Marketing than actually… planning. It’s wild how much of the job is emotional labor. Just last week, I had to convince two VPs that launching in Q3 wasn’t a personal attack on their roadmaps. I wasn’t trained for this. I just learned to read the room and translate chaos into motion. Is this universal? Are we all just winging it with good PowerPoint hygiene?

How many therapists (and social workers too!) see a therapist themselves? Do you find it helpful?
I think there's this myth that therapists have all their own sh*t figured out, and for me at least I know that's far from true (hopefully it isn't just me). On the contrary, I think we should be leading by example!

I’m a senior planner leading one brand and there’s a new strategist on the team working on a sister brand.
