My spouse thinks I should get a "real job." They just don't get that trading can be more lucrative and way less stressful. Why is it so hard to explain this career path?

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

Is it weird to leave a job without expressing you are unhappy to any managing partners before hand? I actually think they will be shocked if I gave my two weeks and I think my biggest worry is that I am going to be killing my group if I leave with all the matters they will need to take on. But the firm has just been brutal during COVID with no acknowledgment at all (money or otherwise) of all the extra work associates have been putting in.

Reason: project I was allocated not good and I initially rejected project but they forcefully moved to the project.I have asked multiple times to replace the project after that I have resigned.
Now manager is threatening me that I will be placed under no hire to IBM.

Currently have lost my yearly salary worth and it's affecting all aspects of my life (job, marriage, health).
