My wife and I are married for 2 years, going thru divorce. No kids, no joint home, and no prenup. My wife has student loans she took prior to us getting married but refinanced them during marriage - I am not a co-signer or guarantor. I am not listed on her loans at all. Additionally, I have a sum of money I inherited prior to marriage.

1. Do the loans stay under her responsibility?
2. Do I keep my inheritance money?

Did you use the inherited money when you were married ? If it was not used then it is protected I think but if not it might be considered marital assets. Contact a lawyer though to be sure

I think living a frugal life and aiming to retire early makes a lot of sense.

Recently, some of my family members are diagnosed with a rare diseases. When you look at the statistics, these are so many of these ‘rare’ conditions and cumulatively they are not rare.

These family members conditions made me reevaluate how I want to spend my life. I am 35 this year and I can’t decide if I should take great vacations with my kids or keep living a frugal life. Do you have the same dilemma?

I am 29F and earning 13LPA. I have been working for 4 years of which 3.5 years I had very low pay and close to 0 savings. I have been able to save 6L now.

My investments below:
* Elss funds - 2 (total 1.5L annually)
* Large cap mutual funds - 6 (total 40K sip per month) current portfolio of 4L
* FDs - 2 of 25K each
*Medical insurance - company provided

Can someone advice if this is a good investment plan for future? What can I do better? Do I need another Insurance? Where else to invest?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

Folks,
Have been married for 15 years and have a kid of 11 years. My spouse is falsely accusing me of domestic abuse and trying to get separated. We have had incompatibility even before marriage on various issues but it was an arranged marriage, we tried to work it out and stay together. Her side is asking her to move on. She has taken my kids passport and kept it with her. What are the options I have to defend myself?

Divorce or not? Loveless marriage, but love our 2 children and enjoying being close to them. Seeing my brother struggle with joint custody and think this is not for me. Too lazy/busy to rock the boat.

If I don’t have kids but I’m divorced. Can I still be part of this bowl?

How’s everyone doing? Any struggle this week?

My husband repeatedly claims domestic abuse falsely, and it’s getting too much. Now that I have kids he has started saying this to them and they say it back to me. I think he does this because he wants custody of kids or an upper hand when it comes to finances if we end up divorcing. Any ideas on how to handle this
