My wife is having a very tough time at work. She is very good at her job but not getting enough recognition. She has to stretch working hours almost daily and has decided to quit and focus on the family. I am confused on this. Please advise. I dont want her to quit her job but at the same time i dont want her to be miserable. I have even asked her to try and switch but she has just given up.

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

What other reasons can I give as I’ve just completed 9 months here and it’s too soon for any other company to take me in.

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
