Which consulting firm has the best 401k match?
Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. I have a non-business degree. I did the CFA because I enjoyed learning about the Finance concepts. Now I use all the knowledge to manage our personal finances. Similarly I discourage people who want to do it just for, or looking for a potential career benefit. If you're going into IM, then definitely, otherwise, even within PE, it's just one of those things that you get a respect nod for if you have the letters at the end of your name.
Got my CPA right out of undergrad and then did level one of the CFA. Realized I didn’t want to do investments anymore and I think it basically has zero value for me anymore. It almost stands out on my resumes for people like why didn’t you complete this.
In my experience outside of asset management no one will care much about a CFA and your CPA is likely more useful in a corporate environment.
Really appreciate your input! I’ll likely end up dropping out as I don’t have intentions of completing the entire exam at this point.

CFA here. I don't think just level 1 (which is still a large volume of material to study) will be useful unless you have no finance background at all.
If you're working in the US, CFA is probably not necessary unless you want to work in AM/IM.
I really appreciate your input here. Just wondering if I may ask, what do you currently do and do you think the CFA has helped you career wise?
