Need help: I had an interview with Google last week which went to be quite different than what recruiter told it to be. I want to tell this to my recruiter but I’m not sure what to say, can you please suggest how can I talk to him.

You’ll need to explain a little more on what you mean by “different”

What position did you interview for , if you don’t mind sharing ?

Recruiter will usually ask for feedback at the end of the process, so just give it then.

About to hit 1 YOE in my first job post grad and have a feeling raises/market adjustments won’t be sufficient due to Covid even though the firm seems to be meeting expectations in terms of the feedback we’ve received from management. Just spoke to someone who landed an interview at their dream company. They didn’t get it through applying. Here’s what they did instead: 1. They studied the job post. 2. They identified that the reason for the hire was to generate more company revenue. 3. They connected the company to a few potential customers by doing a quick looking through their network and messaging warm contacts. Unsurprised they got an interview out of it. Whats the best way you’ve seen someone land an interview?

I was reached out to about a role that I was interested in pursuing but the recruiter said their base was 30k-40k lower than my range. However, recruiter came back 2 weeks later and said they can make it work and is interested in setting me up for interviews. In the mean time within those 2 weeks, I ended up accepting a role and started the new job. I would have taken the first job but don’t want to renege. What do I tell the first company so doors are left open for future if needs arise?
