Need some feedback for the M&A practices for EY, PWC and Deloitte. I have 10+ YOE in M&A and a very solid track record. I am currently interviewing with all 3. Any pluses or minuses for any one of them or things that I should be wary of.

I've heard WLB at Deloitte is pretty bad. How is it at EY or PWC? Any real difference in comp between the 3. I was at KPMG some time ago and while it was a great place to work, their comp is too low currently.

My current salary is under market average for my position but based off my coworkers’ negative experiences with asking for raises/promotions, I’m not really sure how to go about starting the conversation with my manager. There’s also a rumor going around that the company is going to scale back on our marketing efforts even though our VP tells us a different story. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
