I think it remains to be seen if AI will ever be able to fully take over our jobs and replace the necessary human element. I think AI misses a lot of those very important pieces that only a human can provide. It seems like AI is more of an assistant to humans than it is to replace them at this point.
Agree. At least from the creative/agency/development standpoint.
AI doesn’t work with messy data. I think there will always be a place for folks to fix that data. Al might help to fix it faster but you would still need input from humans.
If you can’t beat em .. join em
Currently, the people that know how to use AI will be the ones succeeding, so learn how to use it (and be nice to it)
Currently, no. But I am using AI to help my skill set instead of ignoring it like some of my peers. I guess I technically have a fallback of my fine art if needed. I think PG 1 has it right though, we just need to embrace it.
I'm already riding that wave.
AI (artificial intelligence) is NOT the same as AC (artificial consciousness);. AI does not think for itself; it is not capable of making decisions or recommendations; it can only crunch numbers. It is only as useful as the information it receives.
AI requires a professional with an expert understanding of a given industry to create superior prompts that will produce industry-leading results. I fully intend to harness the power of AI, meld it with my professional experience, and meet the next phase of my industry head-on.
My advice would be to look for classes, groups, or even in-house talent that can help you learn the ins and outs of AI as it pertains to your industry. Even better, look for colleges or trade schools that offer certifications on AI. See if you can get your employer to cover the cost. Be the person who is acting of, even eager for, the application of AI to your industry.
Even if your current employer cannot appreciate your skill and dedication in this area, embracing the technology with make you a LOT more marketable to other employers in your industry.
As someone helping develop solutions for AI in analytics and other functions, I would say don’t be afraid, it will be largely additive, pay attention to who is saying “it will take over your job”, it’s probably people who think they know what your job is but don’t actually know.
Secondly, you will not standout anymore by being able to make charts/tables super fast or write high level comments. That stuff is going to be done by AI, because it’s easy. So, whatever industry your client is in, study the crap out of it and understand their business. It’s time to double or triple down on being insightful, that is what the future of work is going to be for humans as analysts, no longer just making high level contributions. Saying something is trending up or down is not insightful for example, it is an observation and you probably will not be needed to write that anymore. Good luck!
