False ACN1 one of my best friends started at ACN and said he knew of at least a couple analysts let go in strategy practice. But at least you guys handled it better, props for that
Yeah it's strange to read all these negative posts. I only know of one person in my practice at my office (never worked with the person, but this person got a 5 in CRT) to be let go. Then again perhaps I'm in a busy office and a busy practice. I am truly sorry to all who were let go.
They've been posting on here asking if the firm will pay their upcoming rent 😂 not sure whether I'm laughing or crying
Some of them already got their offers rescinded or at least pushed back until as late as February 😱
At least Accenture had the decency to exclude first year analysts from the layoffs earlier this year.
^ brand is not prestige. You came to the wrong place for prestige. PwC is a sweatshop
To comfort the new hires....I don't know anyone out of Houston first years who were laid off. #survivalofthefittest
Yeah cuz that's a major office 🙄
Unfortunately if I'm being honest, I think this is just the beginning. Quite a few people have confirmed another huge cut before bonus payouts in October. The pipelines are looking really bad right now with very few wins (all of which have been very small, low margin implementation work). On top of that, clients don't generally buy work from Fall to end of year because of holidays, no more budget, etc. If things turn around for PwC at all, I wouldn't expect it until spring of next year. And truthfully, I don't think things will turn around with current leadership at the helm. I was talking to some managers and directors recently and they were saying the firm has exponentially gone downhill since certain partners took over. Also, as a new hire, you won't get to pick what industry you get to work in but you'll still get pigeonholed into one. Honestly PwC2, I would start reaching out to some recruiters from more stable firms (like KPMG or even look into industry). I wake up every day regretting that I took my PwC offer for some silly idea of prestige. It is not worth the drama, boring work, and misery.
People are so dramatic. The first years I know who were let go didn't try hard to find anything, were on the bench for months even with a busy group, and made it clear they hated it. All of us associates are getting 25% raises, the senior people I know got 50k and 110k raises respectively. A few whiners are taking over the whole app
PwC 8/9 please don't be delusional, I personally know a lot of people who were laid off who were good performers (partial or next level snapshots) and 80% utilization or more.
Industry alignment as an analyst makes no sense to me. Should happen much later in your career
P8 how much is HR paying you? Can you not read the salary thread, or do you have an inability to count.
Source?
Omg PwC I'm so sorry hahahaha didn't realize you're a new hire. And yeah you would think so... But so far I know 1 person who only made it 4 months, 2 who made it 7 months, 1 who made it 9 months, and 4 who made it 10 months. Keep in mind I don't know everyone and many people also lie and say that quit... But just because you are new does not mean you are safe
Jesus Christ this is horrivle
horrible*
If you are in the AML practice you are in danger. AML work is not hard, and a number of first year associates on that work stream were let go.
Additionally the fall is slow for new projects. If your start date is delayed, I would suggest trying to get a new offer between now and October. You can also interview for investment banks in September, and see if they will let you join next year.
Pwc1 I am curious which Partners you are referring to? Are you referring to Partners in certain verticals or competencies? Or are you talking about USLT? We are just getting a new USLT so we could be in for a bright future. Who knows.
