I know Liver King is out there but my roommate has been living by his “9 ancestral tenets” and it basically changed his life. Anyone else that follows something similar seen benefits? Seems like he’s rooted on well being and staying connected with the world around you. Even if you think he’s weird his YouTube video is well put together.

I’ll still eat at subway. I didn’t grow up with money so I still can’t justify spending more on meals in a week than a lot of people would make in that week. Not that I haven’t splurged, I’ve just gone away from it.
I grew up in a poor middle eastern country and only been in the US 8 years. I don't mean to insult anybody but I never understand this whole logic of I didn't grow up with money so I'm not gonna spend money even if it's business class flight or a free dinner or miles/points redemption on a nice flight or hotel. SO came from an underprivileged American family and for the longest time it bothered me so much until she changed her mentality.
To me it sounds like someone saying I had a critical illness for years and couldn't leave my home so I'm just going to stay home even though I'm now able to leave my home just fine! Go out there and explore the world, rich or poor, money won't follow you to the grave and the opportunity to spend free money definitely won't last all your life either!
I can relate. I’ve been doing this for years and I still feel bad about blowing up dinner.
Didn’t have an extravagant life growing up, so I treat all money like it’s mine
Bring me with you.
You're the hero everyone deserves 🙌🏼
Transfer him to my project. He’ll fit right in and possibly get a high five for fasting a few days every week.
Somebody save me from this project. 😫
The hell with that. If someone else is willingly paying, I'm going all out on dinner
Having grown up on the other side, I’ve always questioned whether I value money too much, or if others just don’t value it enough. Go out to eat, enjoy yourself, but I see the expenses people put in an I’m judging the gluttons. —if you spend more to eat healthy that’s a different story
I did this at bojangles once as an intern. No regrets
I didn't grow up with money so I take a bus to the client. I don't blow money on SFO-ATL flights.
Sometimes I have a craving for cheap fast food even if it’s on someone else’s dime
Still do this with Chipotle
^ive noticed the same mentality with other foreigners. We probably maintain the same habits we had because those are what made us successful. Spending $200 on a meal just because you can makes you soft, physically and mentally. It’s called staying in your lane.
Everyone at Accenture does this so they can pocket the left over $25 untaxed per diem each week. SCORE!
Completely understandable situation. McD rocks.
It's not about eating a lot of money, but about eating healthy on the road. Inevitably, that means spending more than $10 for dinner.
$80 worth of room service later (after meal avg) 🍗 💁🏽♂️
D1 but bojangles is awesome. Why would anyone regret it??! 🤔
I was craving in-n-out while traveling to the west coast. Dinner was a double double animal style. 8 all in and better than the 100 steak I had the day before
Just don’t try taking him out for lunch 😂
