Never had it, but it’s like $150 a bottle so someone likes you an awful lot.
EYP coming together here. That's brotherly love.
In general, Old Elk is supposed to make very good bourbon.. the infinity reference means they're keeping something going from batch to batch so that every rendition has a little of every prior version. My gut tells me it is probably very good, but may not live up to the price tag.
Hmm. This bottle is still quite easy to find on the shelves of local liquor stores in my area, probably due to pricing. Overall, this is one of the main reasons why I was a bit hesitant to purchase this bottle in the first place as it was quite pricy. Secondly, with the name infinity blend, I was afraid this might be the “leftovers,” or an infinity pour, from several projects; Instead, this bottle turned out to be a blend of three MGP whiskies.
Well, it's partially Ky bourbon, so it has that going for it. 😏
Infinity blend is a limited edition release from Old Elk It's about $150 for a bottle. That's pretty expensive bottle you have there.
7 out of 10 for me.
I hate to be blunt with my assessment, but Old Elk Infinity Blend has nothing really special or unique going on here. Aside from a strange youthful note on the palate, nothing else stood out enough for me than to think that this was anything more than a Plain-Jane, classic bourbon
Did you try the 2021 or 2022? I saw that each year, they're lessening the Ky bourbon, so I'm curious.
Saw this for around $150 and decided against it, if I’m paying that much I’d like a bit more transparency on what’s in it, otherwise it feels like expensive marketing
Great review! I'm going to have to try an Old Elk, as I'm pretty sure I've never had a really malt-forward bourbon before. Sounds interesting!
It's supposed to be good considering its price. Nonetheless, this was a delightful whiskey, with wonderful notes on both the nose and palate with an excellent finish.
I really like it! I think it is a little bit pricey but it is smooth. Of course a lot of marketing, but definitely not a bad option. I would definitely buy it again either for a family reunion or as a gift.
